I have had a love of sports from a young age. My first glimpse into the world of multisport was watching my Dad and Brother compete in the 1997 Coast to Coast. It was all go from then, my now husband (Shakey) and I teamed up for the 1998 Coast to Coast and haven’t looked back since. I am hooked! The sport offers so much in the way of personal achievements and fitness. You meet amazing people along the way and the journey is ongoing and takes you to places you never thought you would go.

I went on to do the 1999 C2C also, then headed over to Perth for a couple of years where the fun continued! We paddled, peddled and ran our way through our two years there and spent 3months driving home while exploring as much as Australia as we could.

After 2 ½ yeas away we headed home to the wonderful playground that we call Christchurch. In 2003 I did Coast to Coast as an individual for the first time and man I learnt a lot along the way!! Three weeks later I got married, another cool adventure. In 2004 I competed in Gold rush as an individual. By the end of 2004 I decided that it was time for a change to kayaking so took up the challenge of K1 flat water paddling. This was and still continues to be an amazing journey of learning new physical and mental boundaries. More recently I have been moving back to my multisport roots and have picked up the bike again, which is awesome.

I have been nursing since 1999 and am passionate about health. Last year I decided to also start studying so I could begin to bring together all my passions: sport, coaching others and health. I finished this last November and it gave me a greater understanding and structure to my past 10years in the multisport and kayaking arena and more knowledge to help you achieve your goals! I see this as only the beginnings of my study and can’t wait to achieve more in this area, while helping others achieve their dreams also!

I have had the pleasure of being on Board with Richard and the team at complete performance for nearly two years now with Kayak specific technique work and since September 2009 in a coaching role. I only hope to expand on this further with working with the team and can’t wait to get involved with helping people and playing a small part in them achieving their goals and dreams and having fun along the way.
