Coach Profile
My Multi-sport career really began at University where I was studying towards a Bachelor of Physical Education (majoring in Exercise Prescription and management) and a Bachelor of Arts. I began running half marathons, which led me to off-road running which I really enjoyed. I used a year studying in California to enhance my kayaking skills- and became a sea kayak guide in northern California. I also put my summer break to good use and did some mountain bike guiding in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Upon my return I was talked into running the Kepler Challenge, which in turn led to an invitation to join a team for the 2003 Southern Traverse (5 day course). In preparation for the Traverse we competed in many events- Arrow 24 hr races, 24 hour rogaines, Gold Rush, Cyclic Saga, and some 12 hour mountain bike events. The University of Otago used our team as part of a study on muscles changes, heart rates and nutrition in endurance exercise. The Southern Traverse really was my ultimate adventure race- I enjoyed the navigation, the changeable weather, the mental challenge and of course the excuse to eat as many calories as possible!
After the Traverse, all events seemed easily achievable after such a long and arduous one. I took on the Motutapu Icebreaker Marathon, the Kaweka Challenge and the National Mountain bike series (recreational category).

I am now mother to Jimmy (2 yrs) and Amelia (5 mths), and family is my number 1 priority. I appreciate the times I get out for a run or ride more than ever before! I really enjoying my coaching work, and get my multi-sport fix through training my athletes. I am a Tri NZ accredited coach and also a Technical Official for them. I love sharing my knowledge of exercise prescription and racing experiences with other athletes and helping them to achieve their ‘Complete Performance’.
