Which person best identifies you at the City 2 Surf...?
Person 1: You contemplate doing the event - You are keen to do the event - want to sign up but feel that you need some help and team support. You get busy and don't make time to commit and achieve something for yourself. RESULT - Disappointment!!!.
Person 2: You just turn up and do the event after a couple of training runs - You are disorganised and forget to bring your correct socks. The first 3 kms go well but the further 9kms are ugly... You redefine what it means to "suffer", your friend that walks the event beats you. RESULT - the entire week following the event you walk like John Wayne!!!.
Person 3: You train by yourself - You pick up a couple of frustrating injuries during your training due to poor running technique. You miss three weeks of training as a result although you finish the event due to your grit and determination. RESULT - Frustration as you know you could have done better!!
Person 4: You sign up and train with Team CP - You learn how to run properly and listen to your body so you do the correct amount of running for your ability, subsequently you remain injury free . At the Wednesday session you meet 3 others that run at the same speed as you and you meet them on the weekend to go running together. The team help motivate you and keep you accountable so you make time and complete almost all of your training sessions. You learn about what to eat and drink before, during and after your training runs. Subsequently you finish the City2 Surf feeling great. RESULT - you are stoked with your achievement and the best of all your work mates are jealous about how well you did!!
