Too much cake!!

Posted on August 31, 2008

Hands up all those who indulged in a little too much cake at the first and definitely not the last Raspberry cafe Mission.   Although we weren’t exactly reaching for the sun cream it was great that we didn’t need our rain jackets, maybe spring is finally coming.  The ride kicked off at Pioneer Stadium and we rode in very high spirits to the Raspberry Cafe Tai tapu.  After tucking into eggs, bacon, pancakes, various slices and drinks we took off on our mission home.  For some this involved a cruisy ride back into town and for others it involved the long way home via the hills. This was when the full extent of how much we had eaten became apparent and we attacked those hills that seemed like mountains. A huge well done to all those who came it was fantastic to see everyone out and it’s wonderful to see our Complete Performance family growing.

Big improvements at Brass Monkey

Posted on August 25, 2008

A number of the Complete Performance team were out in force at the Brass Monkey kayak race down the lower waimak on Sunday.  Follow on from the technique sessions that Rosie has been doing with the crew it was great to see that the technique work has been able to be transfered onto the moving water which transferred into some significant improvements.  The biggest improvement came from Wendy Spray who clocked a PB down the course by more than 2 minutes which is a massive result considering the river was at a lower flow compared to last time.  Well done everyone and keep up the great work!!

Get well soon Steve

Posted on August 21, 2008

Steve Wooff fell of his mountain bike while riding down the Lava flow (crazy) mountain bike track in the snow (even crazier) a few days ago and has subsequently fractured his patella (or knee cap) into many pieces.  Steve has been a regular at spin over the last few months, a class which he has a love hate relationship with.  He is known for pushing himself to the limit and as a result of these regular hard sessions he had been riding really well.  Therefore Steve wasn’t at Tour de Spin this week as he was in surgery having it wired back together (a fair excuse…).  All the best with your recovery Steve and we look forward to seeing you back on your bike as soon as possible.

New PB by 20minutes

Posted on August 17, 2008

Nadine Voice has just clocked in a new PB for her 1/2 marathon by running 2.09 at Palmerston North today.  Conditions were really good with little wind and cool conditions at first however the heavens opened towards end of the race ensuring Nadine had to tough it out to the finish.  Nadine has been training hard for the New Zealand Ironman in March therefore this was a good indication that her preparation is right on track.  Keep up the great work!!

Complete Performance brunch ride

Posted on August 17, 2008

Our inaugural Complete Performance Brunch ride is going to take place on Saturday the 30th of August.  To mark the end of winter and the start of Spring we are thinking positive thoughts about the fantastic weather for that particular day.  The plan is to meet at Pioneer stadium at 9.30 and brunch ride out to Tai Tapu to the Raspberry cafe for breakfast, brunch or lunch (depending on what time of the day you get out of bed).  Then depending on the weather and how much we have eaten we will either ride Long Bays, or maybe out to Sumner or for those of us who may need an extra hard pill in their coffee (you know who you are) maybe straight home.  If you are keen send Richard an email richard@completeperformance.co.nz to confirm your spot as we do have limited numbers at the Cafe.
